marco’s pizza is a nice little pizza chain that can be found in a few different locations in the bay area. check out their website to find the one nearest you, and then go to it. they have some great pizza, especially considering they are a national chain. they’ve got a fairly robust selection of toppings available for you to choose from, so you can get a pizza however you want it. i went recently and picked up a few pizzas for myself and my family, taking advantage of a GREAT deal they’ve got going on now: $10 gets you any large pizza you want, any number of toppings you’d like. just 10 bucks. and considering the quality of the pizza you’re getting, that is a hell of a lot better than whatever the pizza hut offer is (just for your information, i hate the pizza hut).
my pizza consisted of classic pepperoni (allegedly different from normal pepperoni… i couldn’t tell), bacon, mushrooms, black olives, onions, and jalapeƱos. you also get to choose how you’d like your crust, and out of roma, butter garlic, ranch, and parmesan cheese, i chose butter garlic. the toppings are nice and fresh, in great quantities and distributed evenly. the crust is about as thick as you’d expect from a pan style pizza, able to support the heavy load of toppings without drooping, with quite a bit exposed on the outer edge to showcase their different flavors (which, frankly, i felt was a bit too understated, thought definitely present). the sauce is excellent, a bit sweet but with a solid, full tomato flavor. good cheese.
overall, a great pizza. probably the best chain pizza i’ve had.
